How does a dual-pig system work?
Prevent product contact with air
The double pig pigging system is usually applied to the processes where the liquid product is oxygen-sensitive. As exposure to the air may lead to high level of dissolved oxygen content in the product and potential spoilage.
During the initial operation, the first pig is driven by product to the automatic stopper to evacuate the air and water in the pipeline. The pig works as a seal to block the outlet of the stopper, and prevent the product behind it from oxidizing through air contact. Once product transfer is concluded, the clean compressed air starts to propel the second pig to push the residue product inside the pipeline into the storage tank below the stopper, and this marks the conclusion of the first pigging cycle. The procedure is repeated for pigging operations directed to the receiving station.

Introduction
This automatic stopper is a critical component in pigging systems, the automatic stopper is primarily used to intercept the pig, leading it to stop at a specific location within the pipeline, and to recover product to a target tank near that location. It is designed to meet the needs for segmented product recovery and cleaning of certain pipeline sections.

Dual- pig system is pigging system with 2 pigs. The launcher is designed to accommodate 2 pigs side by side.
Dual- pig system solution can be applied to oxygen-sensitive product tansfer. The function of the first pig is to evacuate air from the pipe, ensure the product quality and integrity, and prevent product oxidation. For another application of dual-pig system solution, there is some solvent or cleaning agents between the two pigs, the solvent is utilized to clean the pipe due to viscous product residue. This pigging solution can be applied to paint, coating, chemicals to remove the special product adhered to the inner wall of the pipes.
A single-pig system is a pigging system with one pig. A single-pig system can be applied in different processes, like pigging from single source to single destination, pigging from multiple sources to multiple destinations, pigging from single source to multiple destinations. Both Hyperfore single-pig system and double-pig system feature hygienic design, and they can be implemented in a wide range of fields.
Several factors may affect the lifespan of a pig:
I. Pipeline and Product Conditions- Installation condition of pipeline
- Friction caused by some specific product，especially highly viscous or abrasive product
- The type of bends, 3D bends are recommended
- Dry pipeline inner wall will do harm to a pig
- The pig’s traveling speed along the pipeline
- The propellant pressure
- The pigging frequency and travel distance of the pig
III. Maintenance and Handling
- The propriety of cleaning and maintenance applied to the pig after use
