Hyperfore recently designed and installed automatic sanitary pigging systems on three production lines for a famous pharmaceutical manufacturer in China. The case is one of our successful pigging applications in pharmaceutical industry.The turnkey project includes automatic pigging system equipment, piggable valves, process design, automation system, on-site installation and commissioning, operation training, and technical support. The pigging systems significantly reduced product waste, improved the output and profit up to 5%.

Take one of the production lines for example, the pipeline was 280 meters. Without pigging system, the residue pharmaceutical liquid could be 540L, which would all be treated as waste product. After using pigging system, the pigging process was operated once a day, and it helped to save about $41035 every month, the savings was significant. According to testing result after installation and commissioning, the pigging system largely lowered the pipeline cleaning difficulty and the waste water treatment pressure.

Hyperfore Tailored Pigging Solutions

  • Supply Scope: sanitary automatic pigging systems, pigging automation system, piggable valves, piggable bends and tees, pig speed controller, etc., on-site installation and commissioning, technical training, spare parts, after-sales services.
  • There were altogether three pigging pipelines. The diameter was 2inch, the pipeline length was 280 meters. the pipes had smooth interior surface and were properly installed, so we recommended one-piece pipeline pigs.
  • The pig started from the automatic launching station and stopped at the receiving station. It took 7 minutes to complete the pigging process. The recovery rate was 95%, the pigging process efficiently cleaned the residue product in the pipeline, significantly lessened the amount of CIP agent and water, and largely improved the production efficiency.
  • Hyperfore also supplied the automatic control system with HMI and SCADA system. It could communicate with the main control system through network. The pigging automation control system decreased manual labor and errors. The pigging system also supported remote operation via IOS / Android mobile devices, as well as Mac and Windows computers.
  • Hyperfore’s engineer equipped the waste discharge pipe with a conductivity meter, and the device could precisely measure the concentration of ions , which was also indicative of the performance of the pigging process. By using this process the pigging efficiency was optimized. The consumption of pure water and cleaning agents was also largely reduced.
